This 120-bed specialist hospital was established through the initiative of national private entrepreneurs to address the critical healthcare challenges in South Sudan. In a country where institutions are still developing and resources are limited, the burden of disease is high, and access to quality clinical care is scarce. Often, the nearest reliable healthcare facilities are located in neighboring countries, making them inaccessible for the majority of ordinary citizens. Consequently, many South Sudanese are compelled to seek medical treatment abroad, placing significant strain on the national treasury. In response to this pressing need, a group of national business leaders and senior specialist doctors collaborated with the shared vision of creating a state-of-the-art specialist hospital within South Sudan, bringing advanced medical care closer to home.
